PHAZES

For the last ten years Phazes has been active as a DJ, event organizer (with the Bass Infection collective) and radio show host for the monthly "Stereo Sl Breakbeat Special" on Radio Orange. As a producer, Phazes is on the go with different names and collaborations such as the "Rhythm Breakz" formation (w/phil pruce+precious k).
As "Jan Bozek" he roams clubby territories in a more minimalistic manner whereas "Audiomatrix" is his pseudonym he uses for pop productions like the one he did for a Mercedes Benz promotion.
In the studio and with his DJ sets Phazes won´t let himself get pinned down to a specific style or tempo. Rather than that, his motto is: "Let´s see what will turn out".

ONJEL

This man comes from the city which lies on two continents. Actually a singer but he’s been searching in vain for the perfect combination. Instead he found a program called Reason which gave him a reason again He’s never touched a real synth, can’t read music, but he can let his inner self flow out – and he does that with elegance. “Elegant, like Don Juan!” some people say, and listen to his voice.

Cheesy, spacey, folksy electronic popmusic! With exclamation mark! Says JM. We say it’s as if the Beatles had made a field trip to Berlin for an electronic jam session with Erasure. Synthies boiling happily next to flurring guitars and the obligatory thick plastillin-grooves. Beats meet Boheme. Butterflies in the gut are guarantueed.

Synthies wabbern fröhlich neben flirrenden Gitarren und den obligatorisch fetten Plastilin-Grooves. Beats meet Boheme! Buntes Gefühl im Bauch garantiert!

Dieser Mann stammt aus einer Stadt, die zwei Kontinente verbindet. Lebt seit langem in Wien. Ist eigentlich Sänger. Doch er suchte die perfekte Kombination in sämtlichen Bands vergeblich. Stattdessen fand er ein Programm namens Reason, das ihm wieder einen Reason gab. Er hat nie ein echtes Synth angerührt. Kann keine Noten lesen. Doch er kann sein innen nach aussen rinnen lassen. Und das macht er elegant. "Elegant... Wie Don Juan!" sagt man. Und hört seiner Stimme zu. 		 

 
     
PHAZES
Seit gut 10 Jahren ist der heute 28jährige Wiener Daniel Berthold aka Phazes als DJ aktiv, lange Zeit war er auch als Veranstalter (mit dem Kollektiv Bass Infection) tätig und zudem hat er über 4 Jahre lang bei Stereo Sl auf Radio Orange das monatliche „Break Beat Special“ moderiert.
Als Produzent ist Phazes in verschiedenen Formationen und Kolloborationen umtriebig, wie z.b. mit der Crew „Rhythm Breakz“ – der Breakbeatformation(w/phil pruce+precious k), unter dem Pseudonym Jan Bozek begibt er ich in minimalistischere Gefielde in Sachen Clubsound und als „Audiomatix“ steckt er hinter Pop Produktionen wie sie u.a. für eine Promotion von Mercedes Benz verwendet wurden. Im Studio wie auch bei seinen DJ-Sets im Club legt Phazes sich auf keinen Style und kein Tempo fest. „mal schauen was am ende dabei raus kommt“ lautet die Devise.
